Iconic sci-fi 'The Matrix' reboot in making

Media reports say Warner Bros. is to develop a reboot of iconic 1999 sci-fi movie ‘The Matrix’.

The US film studio is in the early stages of developing the cinematic project, the media reports said, adding, writer Zak Penn is in talks with the studio to come up with the new treatment for the franchise reboot

The reports also noted that Michael B. Jordan is said to star in the re-launch and the Wachowski siblings, who wrote and directed the original and its two sequels, are yet to join the nascent project.

Meanwhile, Producer Joel Silver who sold his stake in all his movies, including the original Matrix trilogy, has reportedly approached Warner Bros. about the possibility of making a new one.

'The Matrix' gained an overnight success due to its special effects as well as the appearance of Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Laurence Fishburne in the movie.
